MACKENZIE PR OFFICE TAKES ON FESTIVE TWIST
Things in the Mack PR office took a festive twist recently when, through our work with WildHearts – a Nairn-based charity dedicated to helping people living in poverty around the world – we supported the organisation’s Aberdeen Santa Run. The team worked exceptionally hard to generate pre and post-event coverage for the fundraising challenge – a six kilometre fun run along the city’s beachfront with all participants dressed as Father Christmas! The media campaign worked well, with coverage secured in local, regional and national press, as well as on local television and radio news bulletins. However, not content with simply backing the event through providing PR support, members of the Mack PR team donned their Santa suits, beards and bobble hats to take part in the run – or should that be walk! After making their way along the route, the guys completed a lap of honour around the pitch of the true Theatre of Dreams – Pittodrie Stadium – before heading home for a much needed drink or two, and, in some cases, some CPR!
Original FM Wins Mackenzie PR Grampian Media Pub Quiz
This year’s Mackenzie PR Grampian Media Pub Quiz proved to be the most competitive yet, with journalists from across the North-east pitting their wits against each other once again in a bid to win the title.
The event, which took place at the city’s Douglas Hotel in October, was eventually won by Original FM, putting an end to STV’s winning streak.
Many thanks to all who took part and made the evening the success it was. And thanks again to the Douglas Hotel for serving up some seriously tasty stovies at half time!
Mackenzie PR Wins Northern Star Award for its Charitable Efforts We were delighted to scoop the award for ‘Socially Responsible Company of the Year’ at the 2008 Northern Star Business Awards in September.
Around a thousand people gathered at the AECC to celebrate some of the brightest and best of North-east business at this year’s ceremony, at which we were formally recognized for our charitable efforts.
The socially responsible company award is given in recognition of the company deemed to most demonstrate a significant, ongoing commitment to the local community.
Previous winners include Shell, The Wood Group and Macphie of Glenbervie – so we were absolutely thrilled to walk away with the award this time!
